PORT VICTORIA WALKING TRAILS

The popular Port Victoria Geology Trail is a 4km path that heads south from the jetty to explore the quiet foreshore at the Rifle Butts Beach, where 2000 million years ago volcanoes spewed ash and red-hot lava into the atmosphere and earthquakes shook the ground.
Walk down the many access points along the way to get a closer look at the different types of rocks which are explained in detail in the information brochures. The points are marked by large black boulders.

Southern Walking Trail
Begins at the jetty and stretches 2kms all along the coastline, through the natural sand dunes and Flora Park, down alongside the No 1 golf hole and up to the Boat Ramp.
For a longer walk continue south along the beaufuil scenic rocky coast until you meet the fantastc swimming beach of Rifle Butts Beach.
The trail finishes here but you can walk along the Rifle Butts Beach and over a small dune to the Second Beach with its secluded long white sandy stretch.

Northern Walking Trail
Begins at the northern tip of the caravan park and winds along the cliff top 2kms to the North Beach.
Here you can continue your walk along a shallow sandy beach that is home to many seabirds including pelicans.
A great beach for the children to play and explore among the shallow rock pools.

Detailed brochures for all walks are available at the Jetty Kiosk, General Store or at the Maritime Museum.
